Ghana on Friday, March 6, 2015 celebrated 58 years after gaining independence from it’s colonial masters, Britain.<\/p>\n

Ghana became independent in 1957 and had Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah as it’s first Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

President John Dramani Mahama during his address at the Black Stars Square underscored the need to continually commemorate the day.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that 58 years in our history, \u201cwe have made mistakes and we have chalked many successes. We must celebrate and enhance our successes and recognize and minimize our failures.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Mahama added that every Ghanaian has in one way or the other contributed to the country\u2019s collective history \u201cand will be a critical factor in whether we will succeed or fail as a nation.\u201d<\/p>\n
