Minister of State in charge of Public-Private Sector, Rashid Pelpuo has chastised Ghanaians for continuously criticizing the Mahama-led government saying they are being unfair to the president.

This he said is because Ghanaians have accused the President of failing to fulfill most of the promises he made in the past.

[contextly_sidebar id=”EA8hP2mrnHJ5k2nXYV3cLCCWR3W4dNmA”]“Compare what he [President Mahama] has done within these two years to any administration in two years, you will find that people are completely thoroughly unfair to this man and to this regime ,” Rashid Pelpuo argued.

President Mahama has been criticized for reneging on promises he has made during his tenure in office.

In his campaign message, President Mahama promised to end the energy crisis, ensure a vibrant economy, provide more educational facilities, boost access to healthcare, improve on road networks, create jobs among others.

Two years into his administration, many especially opposition parties have criticized the president for failing to fulfill his promises to Ghanaians.

But speaking on the Point Blank Segment on the Eyewitness News, Rashid Pelpuo who is also the Member of Parliament for Wa Central said the accusations were only based on perception.

“It is a perception by Ghanaians that he [President Mahama] is not fulfilling his promises, they are being fulfilled. Every single promise he has made, if it is not fulfilled fully, it is fulfilled halfway,” Rashid Pelpuo said.

“He promised to deliver water, there is water, he promised to create more avenues for people to have access to the education, it’s happening. He is increasing the percentage more than any other African country. Ghana’s percentage in education is the highest we can find. So much is happening. He has promised to make health more accessible by creating more hospitals and clinics, he has done it much more than anybody has done with his two years.”

The Wa Central legislator further urged Ghanaians to support the government by giving him a second chance in the 2016 election adding “Ghana will never be the same, it is a promise we have made, we are not going to renege on the promises, we will work towards it and we will achieve the best for Ghanaians.”
