The organizers of the One Ghana protest have rejected claims that some members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who joined the exercise were heckled.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”VPGTR8kVkPW4iiyBjtYWONXjpcdoBGrf”]Some NPP claimed they were heckled and\u00a0<\/a>prevented<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0from joining the exercise by some members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n The NPP members including the party’s Communications Director, Nana Akomea were angry \u00a0saying they did not understand why the NDC members chased them out when the protest was not partisan.<\/p>\n Pressure group, Coalition for the Defence of Equal Citizenship (CODEC) organized a protest aimed at expressing their displeasure of ethnocentric comments<\/strong><\/a><\/span> allegedly made by NPPs Osafo Marfo.<\/p>\n The protest according to the organizers was \u201cessentially to create the needed awareness, why we to leave together peacefully as a state, that we must at all times cherish that cardinal principle that there can always be unity in diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Speaking on Eyewitness News, convener of the group, Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo refuted the claims by the NPP insisting that nothing of that sort happened at during the protest.<\/p>\n This he said is because ironically some members of the NPP including Dominic Nitiwul and Mike Oquaye were part of the protest from beginning to the end.<\/p>\n
