MAKSI, a Ghanaian unisex fashion label, has launched a new boutique at East Legon, a suburb of Accra, to provide customers with the opportunity to interact directly with the brand and to ensure a superior customer experience for the public.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the launch, Abynnah Sekyiamah, Head of Creative Concepts at MAKSI, said \u201cI want people to be able to walk into the shop, try on some of our clothing and interact with our staff whilst having an enjoyable experience\u201d.<\/p>\n
She added that \u201cwe put a lot of love into the creation of our clothing, and we want our customers to feel that same emotion when they visit us.\u201d<\/p>\n
To coincide with the launch of the boutique, MAKSI also launched a new collection, dubbed \u2018Sous La Mer\u2019.<\/p>\n
The collection, which takes inspiration from the vibrant colours found in the ocean as well as the smooth flow of low tides, incorporates vibrant African prints and soft flowing fabric, to give the silhouette a sensual feel.<\/p>\n
In December last year, Abynnah and Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah launched MAKSI\u2019s first standalone shop in East Legon, Accra.<\/p>\n
After celebrating 5 years in the fashion business, the label has been at the forefront of the ready -to- wear market in Ghana and has been making waves across the continent.<\/p>\n
MAKSI has taken part in fashion shows by VLISCO and CitiFm, and held trunk shows and pop up events in London, Antigua and Johannesburg.<\/p>\n
When asked what the future holds for MAKSI, Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah said, \u201cMAKSI is moving on to bigger and better things. We have started holding monthly events for our customers and friends.<\/p>\n
The series of events is dubbed \u2018Fashion Plus\u2019 with each episode focused on varied issues such as entrepreneurship, sexuality and books,\u201d adding that \u201cthis will be an opportunity for our customers to not only learn about fashion, but those essential life skills that inspire us.\u201d<\/p>\n
From embroidered shirts for men, to chiffon, print and leatherette mixed dresses for today\u2019s contemporary woman, MAKSI is expected to continue to make a mark on the fashion industry in Ghana.<\/p>\n
Abena and Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah are co-founders of MAKSI, with the label\u2019s menswear collection exclusively designed by Thomas Dzator.<\/p>\n
