{"id":96035,"date":"2015-03-03T11:52:44","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T11:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=96035"},"modified":"2015-03-03T11:58:28","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T11:58:28","slug":"court-orders-agric-ministry-to-halt-production-of-gm-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/03\/court-orders-agric-ministry-to-halt-production-of-gm-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Court orders Agric Ministry to halt production of GM products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Fast Track High Court has ordered the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to halt all the production and sale of Genetically Modified products in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;DUNJZ4VmDFur1tfFATvXwkh0JCiM873l&#8221;]A civil society group, Food Sovereignty Ghana (FSG) <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/02\/10\/group-sues-agric-ministry-gmos\/#sthash.0lROZ3MT.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>dragged the Ministry to court<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0seeking an injunction to prevent the Ministry from commercializing the sale of Genetically Modified (GM) foods in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They claim the Ministry does not have the authority to commercialize such products.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The group <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/03\/02\/suit-against-agric-ministry-over-gm-foods-set-for-tuesday\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>in an earlier statement<\/strong><\/a><\/span> said, \u201cOur case is very simple.
