The Minority in Parliament is asking government to disclose the components of\u00a0the $940 million support package from\u00a0the International Monetary Fund (IMF).<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”EB4AnfHa4qNSOyqIX0BjtWWgKvOUYKQB”]The IMF announced that it has agreed to give Ghana $940 million<\/strong><\/a><\/span> to help turn around the nation\u2019s ailing economy.<\/p>\n Ghana in 2014 initiated a programme with the IMF<\/strong><\/a><\/span> for a possible bail out from its economic woes, which was manifested in the depreciation of the cedi<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, high inflation rates<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, huge wage bill, among others.<\/p>\n But the Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Dr. Anthony Osei Akoto in an interview with Citi News <\/strong>said though he was not surprised about the amount of money from the IMF, he insisted that the cost\u00a0for \u00a0such amount\u00a0should be made known.<\/p>\n
