The wave which was described as one of the fiercest destroyed some low-lying houses and ripped off some roofs.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> the assembly man of the area Wilberforce Gbetor-Sosah called for an urgent attention to be paid to their plights.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019My appeal to the government is to construct a sea defence wall to protect the coast from the ravages of the waves\u2019\u2019. Explaining that \u2018\u2019the seas is destroying houses along the coast, especially along the coast from Hovi to Denu,&#8221;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-93709\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/keta-2.jpg\" alt=\"keta (2)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Chief Executive for The Keta Municipality Sylvester Tornyeavah who is currently in Kumasi on official duties told the citinews the incidence was devastating. He said updates from NADMO officials revealed over twenty houses have so far been affected.<\/p>\n<p>He said the only solution to the annual disaster is the construction of a sea defence; a project he disclosed government has already started but in phases.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019Government has begun the construction of sea defence at Akplor-Atokor with works on Dzita and Horve expected to start later this year.\u2019\u2019 he disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>He however assured the people of government efforts to bring a lasting end to their plight.
