Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region say they will embark on a demonstration exercise on February 24, to thank President John Dramani Mahama for the enormous development projects he has initiated in the region.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”8tTBMAuGEOBpqPYWFkYFGGFpHacsDuoW”]This they say is because the president has done a lot for the region, which must be highlighted.<\/p>\n

The Police in the Ashanti Region gave the clearance<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>to the Organized Youth of Ashanti (OYA) affiliated to the NDC and the Movement for Change (MFC) of the NPP to embark on a demonstration exercise in the region on February 24\u00a0and 25\u00a0<\/span>respectively.<\/p>\n

This follows an earlier demonstration<\/strong><\/a><\/span> organized by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Accra to protest their displeasure over what they say is the power crisis and the worsening economic conditions in the country.<\/p>\n

In a twist of event, Raymond Tandor, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>\u00a0said though they are aware that “the power crisis is a national problem notwithstanding there are a lot of projects going on behind it and we need to highlight it and outline some of the challenges we are facing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said some of the project include \u201cMampong water project, the Jute factory, the Airport rehabilitation, the Kwahu water project, road networks and a lot of others.\u201d<\/p>\n
