Police in Nima have arrested one person in connection with the alleged physical assault on a suspected homosexual at Nima, a suburb of Accra.<\/p>\n

A video on the attack has gone viral on social media prompting calls for the Police to take action.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”giKw5UOxOjAuriGj7VE1qmPg1yANTTFq”]The video showed the victim, Albert Appiah popularly known as Kinto, being attacked by a group of young men who accused him of\u00a0being a homosexual.<\/p>\n

Describing the incident to Citi News<\/strong>, the Divisional Commander of the Nima Police Command, ACP Nuhu Jango ruled out any suspected gay allegations against the victim.<\/p>\n

He told the media that initial investigations seem to suggest that the gay allegations are \u201ccomplete cooked-up story against the victim, Albert Appaih also called Kinto.\u201d<\/p>\n

Narrating how the incident took place, ACP Jango said: \u201cHe had some friendship with one Salim Abubakar. They used to visit each other and they became friends through social media so they got close.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came to visit him as he always does and Salim to have a one on one chat with him in private so they stood by the victim\u2019s car so from nowhere, four people sat at the back seat alleging that he was sodomizing the other guy.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, they were not sitting in front of the car and this Salim never complained that he had been sodomized.\u201d<\/p>\n

The suspects then beat him up mercilessly and carried Kinto from one location to the other until they took him to an ATM machine and asked him to slot in his card and give them [suspects] some ransom.<\/p>\n

ACP Jango also hinted that the suspect, Barry Abu will be processed for court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He explained saying, \u201cwe are sending this man to court because nobody has reported any unnatural knowledge case to us. What we are handling as you see now is assault on this man.\u201d<\/p>\n
