{"id":89931,"date":"2015-02-09T18:00:27","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T18:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=89931"},"modified":"2015-02-09T18:06:47","modified_gmt":"2015-02-09T18:06:47","slug":"pdp-behind-postponement-of-nigeria-elections-ovation-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/02\/pdp-behind-postponement-of-nigeria-elections-ovation-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP\u00a0\u00a0behind postponement of Nigeria elections &#8211; Ovation CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive Officer of Ovation International and former presidential aspirant in Nigeria Chief Dele Momodu has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria of influencing the military to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/02\/07\/nigeria-elections-postponed-security-reasons\/#sthash.PfonGNpO.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>cause the postponement<\/strong><\/a><\/span> of the presidential elections originally scheduled for February 14.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;j7VhhXLxsStwu2hOBT059ic3XzlNYN1l&#8221;]According to him, the ruling party realized that it would lose the February 14 elections hence the decision to compel the military to call for a postponement of the elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria last week announced the postponement of presidential elections from February 14 to March 28 citing inadequate security preparations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Describing the move as unfortunate and embarrassing, Chief Dele Momodu told Citi News that\u00a0\u201cthe postponement of the Nigerian elections is very unfortunate, it is very embarrassing and it is totally reckless. The ruling party saw from all available evidence that it was likely to loose this election and they decided to use the military to intervene on its behalf by saying they will not be able to provide enough logistics and security for the elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He stated that the Nigerian military had been widely reported in Nigeria as saying that they would be able to provide adequate security for the elections if it were held on February 14.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe same military as widely reported in the vanguard newspaper of Nigeria on February 3<sup>rd<\/sup> said they were very ready and they had learnt from their past mistakes.
