{"id":87842,"date":"2015-02-03T05:30:27","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T05:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=87842"},"modified":"2015-02-02T19:51:09","modified_gmt":"2015-02-02T19:51:09","slug":"group-to-demonstrate-on-6th-march-over-dumsor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/02\/group-to-demonstrate-on-6th-march-over-dumsor\/","title":{"rendered":"Group to demonstrate on 6th March over \u2018Dumsor\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A group calling itself Concerned Ghanaians are threatening to embark on a demonstration exercise on Independence Day, March 6, to protest the current energy crisis that has hit the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Rat9EMYLgNss981nbk3CLf4hupixTM3L&#8221;]\u201cIn a mass show of action encapsulating the national mood, we intend to take to the streets of Accra on 6th March 2015, Independence Day, to demonstrate against the continual erratic electricity supply and the seeming lack of ability of both the government and the ECG to get a grip on the problem,\u201d a statement from the group stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0According to them, \u201cit is both shameful and embarrassing that, in the 21st Century, our pretensions of being taken seriously as an independent country are rendered a joke by the continual failure of ECG to provide a consistent supply of electricity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Power producers and distributors in the country <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/01\/05\/load-shedding-exercise-to-resume-gridco\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>have been struggling<\/strong><\/a><\/span> to provide the power required to meet the energy needs of the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus the country is currently undergoing a shedding load exercise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The group argued that a consistent power supply is a basic building block of a nation\u2019s infrastructure \u201cyet 58 years after independence, we struggle to provide it. Businesses, schools, homes, industry, hospitals are all affected.
