<\/a><\/p>\nPriscilla who is also known as “Gogo” said she is learning to read and write-an opportunity she never had as a child.<\/p>\n
Gogo told the BBC\u00a0that she attended school to be able to read the Bible and inspire children to get an education.<\/span><\/p>\n“I’d like to be able to read the Bible; I also want to inspire children to get an education.<\/p>\n
“Too many older children are not in school. They even have children themselves.”<\/p>\n
Gogo says she confronts children who are not in school and asks them why.<\/p>\n
“They tell me they are too old,” she says, “I tell them, ‘Well I am at school and so should you.’<\/p>\n
“I see children who are lost, children who are without fathers, just going round and round, hopeless. I want to inspire them to go to school.”<\/p>\n
Gogo was turned away by the school on her first visit but<\/p>\n
At first the school turned her away but later accepted\u00a0\u00a0her after understanding how committed she was to learning.<\/p>\n
Gogo, who is now a\u00a0prefect takes part in all of the classes – Maths, English, PE, dance, drama and singing.<\/p>\n
She also tells stories to her classmates under trees near the playing fields to make sure her knowledge of local customs are passed on.<\/p>\n
