Abraham Amaliba<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba has described the leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as hypocrites.<\/p>\n

Mr. Amaliba\u2019s accusation comes ahead of the NPP\u2019s national delegates\u2019 conference in Tamale where the Electoral Commission (EC) is expected to supervise the party\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n

According to him, the NPP has no moral rights to invite the EC to supervise the conference when the party has clearly questioned the credibility of the EC \u00a0after alleging vote rigging \u00a0in the 2012 election.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Mr. Amaliba stated that the EC was scandalized during the election petition hearing adding that the Commission was \u201cdiscredited and they tried to as it were, lower the reputation of the EC in the eyes of Ghanaians.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, the NPP\u2019s decision to solicit the help of the EC in the conduct of their national executive elections \u201csmacks of a group of people who do not believe that the EC as an institution is a credible institution.\u201d<\/p>\n

This development he added is indicative that the NPP is \u201cinconsistent\u201d because \u201cwhen it suits them, the EC can come and supervise their elections but when it doesn’t suit them, they say the EC lacks credibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
