Government says it suspects the hackers who\u00a0hijacked its websites<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>are<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>based in Turkey<\/p>\n Several government websites including the Government of Ghana website were attacked on\u00a0Wednesday.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”SAwvK23x0G8B4n6uy16hdgQbhWOmm02L”]Speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>, a Deputy Communications Minister, Ato Sarpong \u00a0said their investigations affirm that the hackers were based in Turkey.<\/p>\n When asked whether they would engage Turkish authorities in the investigations, Mr Sarpong said \u201cThat is what it seems, I don\u2019t want us to look at it as a Turkish thing against a Ghana thing. Let\u2019s allow the relevant authorities to take this one up.\u201d<\/p>\n Though he \u00a0could not also explain why the hackers attacked the websites he said they are still investigating the matter.<\/p>\n Mr Sarpong however assured that they have IT professionals who working assiduously to restore the websites.<\/p>\n
