A former Deputy Minister for Finance under the Kufuor administration, Professor Gyan Baffour has come to the defense of the Controller and Accountant General over the ghost names in the public payroll system.<\/p>\n
He said that some public sector workers are like \u201cvultures\u201d extracting money from government through dubious means.<\/p>\n
According to him, due to the perception and sometimes, the glaring evidence that government officials are enriching themselves, public sector workers are also acquiring wealth through any means possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole country, everybody is trying to make money from wherever he is. They are like vultures taking money from government so that is exactly what is happening,\u201d he said on Eyewitness News.<\/p>\n
He observed that in Ghana, \u201cif people think that you people in highest authorities are making money out of where you are, they are not afraid of you because they know you are also at fault.\u201d<\/p>\n
