<\/a>The Greater Accra Police command has arrested a suspected arsonist who attempted to burn down some shops at the Makola market in Accra.<\/p>\nThe arrest took place at about 2am on Monday when the woman was spotted allegedly pouring kerosene at the marketplace.<\/p>\n
The Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Police Command, DSP\u00a0Freeman Tettey in an interview with Citi News<\/b> confirmed that the woman is in police custody.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was brought in by some security men at<\/span> the market. They are alleging that she was sprinkling kerosene in the market, with the intention of burning it down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\nHe also stated that she exhibited signs of mental instability.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have started investigations but<\/span> she was not cooperating, she appears to be mentally challenged. The investigator would be sending her to the psychiatrist<\/span> hospital for thorough analysis.\u201d<\/p>\nInvestigations are currently underway.<\/p>\n
