A 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Abdullah Alidu ,has been shot dead by unknown assailants outside his home at TUC, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.<\/p>\n
The incident happened about 8pm on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The deceased, Alhaji Abdullah Alidu, was found dead in a pool of blood with bullet holes in his head and belly.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tanko Mohammed, disclosed that the shooting was not related to an armed robbery case.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”likPFedltXxaAjM0B8zlm4e0nJyYqVcd”]According to ASP Tanko, the incident happened at about 8;30 pm last night where the deceased was “shot twice; one in the head and another in the belly.”<\/p>\n He said the victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention.<\/p>\n ASP Tanko further revealed that the Police has commended investigations into the incident.<\/p>\n ” A post mortem was done on the body …we have commenced investigations into the incident and we will do everything possible to uncover the mystery behind his death,” he stated.<\/p>\n “For now we have not been able to find any evidence that point to robbery because his bag was intact with its content; and we cannot point or pin it to robbery but rather a murder case\u2019, ASP Tanko added.<\/p>\n ASP Tanko also appealed to \u00a0the general public to assist the police with any information that might lead to the identity and whereabouts of the perpetrators.<\/p>\n The Ashanti region has in recent times recorded a number of shooting incidents that have left some persons injured and others dead.<\/p>\n
