The trial of hiplife artiste\u00a0Emmanuel Botwe popularly known as\u00a0Kwaw Kese is expected to begin today, Monday January 5, 2015.<\/p>\n
His lawyer, Nana Kwesi Buetey confirmed this to Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At the last hearing, the Kumasi Circuit Court presided over by Judge William\u00a0Boampong\u00a0granted him bail on health grounds<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The rapper\u00a0is standing trial for allegedly smoking publicly, a substance suspected to be Indian hemp<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”bPbW51Ho0f3exTOhiBcrj1m2YLcURiBM”]He was arrested by the Police in Kumasi on November 22, 2014.<\/p>\n Kwaw Kese had been shuffling between jail and the hospital since his arrest and pleaded with the judge to grant him bail<\/strong><\/span><\/a> after the incident.<\/p>\n He has since pleaded not guilty in the matter even though the prosecution said in one of the court appearances that medical tests on the musician<\/strong><\/span><\/a> have revealed he had smoked the substance.<\/p>\n
