Council inspectors said it could have been a lot more serious<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"row2\" class=\"tmRow span-15-5 col-1 article-page\np402_hide\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"tmCol article\">\n<div class=\"body \">\n<p>An unlucky takeaway customer bit off a little more than he could chew when he tucked in to a chicken doner kebab and found a three inch drill bit.<\/p>\n<p>The irate man complained to council health officers that he almost cracked a tooth on the piece of metal and the fas food restaurant has been fined more than \u00a37,500.<\/p>\n<p>Top Kebab\/Pizza Top in Havering, north London, was visited by environmental health workers who found the premises undergoing renovations.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"inline-image clearfix \">\n<div class=\"image-credit-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"captify\" title=\"Huge: This is the drillbit the customer found in his kebab\" src=\"http:\/\/i1.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article4902490.ece\/alternates\/s615\/PAY-This-drillbit-was-found-in-a-chicken-kebab.jpg\" alt=\"This drillbit was found in a chicken kebab\" width=\"615\" height=\"409\" \/><\/div><figcaption>Huge: This is the drillbit the customer found in his kebab<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They discovered electrical equipment, screwdrivers, decorating materials and drill bits being stored near where food was being prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Owner Nehmatullah Jamalzadah was fined \u00a37,726 by Romford Magistrates for breaking section 14 of the Food Safety Act 1990.<\/p>\n<p>Havering Council cabinet member for regulatory services, Councillor Osman Dervish, said: &#8220;This could have been a lot more serious and I am relieved that the customer did not come to any harm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The owner of this takeaway had a responsibility to keep customers safe while the building work was carried out and this was clearly ignored.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Mirror.co.uk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Top Kebab\/Pizza Top in Havering has been fined more than \u00a37,500 after inspectors found decorating materials and drill bits being stored near food.
