{"id":78084,"date":"2014-12-30T06:37:05","date_gmt":"2014-12-30T06:37:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=78084"},"modified":"2014-12-30T06:37:05","modified_gmt":"2014-12-30T06:37:05","slug":"severe-water-crisis-hits-tamale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/12\/severe-water-crisis-hits-tamale\/","title":{"rendered":"Severe water crisis hits Tamale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Regional capital Tamale has been hit by severe water crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The worrying development\u00a0during this Christmas season\u00a0is making life in the Tamale Metro Area\u00a0unexciting.<\/p>\n<p>The water crisis coupled with the Harmattan weather has kept most residents disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;fzkiLfelKEwbmrGUk0E7fXAeNlH2bS5X&#8221;]According to reports, the taps have not been flowing for close to two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Management of Ghana Water Company has kept mute on the situation, leaving residents of the affected communities angry.<\/p>\n<p>The affected communities include Sabonjida, Kukuo, Changli, Dohin-Naayili and Moshie Zongo.<\/p>\n<p>The situation is gradually crippling commercial activities in the Tamale Metro Area.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurant operators, Hoteliers, washing bays, laundry service providers are grappling with the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Some of them who cannot afford to pay for exorbitant charges by water tanker service providers bemoaned the situation and called for immediate solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Tamale Teaching Hospital which needs constant water supply is among some of affected major installations.<\/p>\n<p>Equally, some frustrated children have been walking distances with gallons in search of water.<\/p>\n<p>Some of them were spotted pushing wheel barrows and trucks moving from place to place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Regional capital Tamale has been hit by severe water crisis.
