{"id":7750,"date":"2014-03-21T15:05:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T15:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=7750"},"modified":"2014-03-21T15:05:35","modified_gmt":"2014-03-21T15:05:35","slug":"pharmacists-to-begin-partial-strike-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/pharmacists-to-begin-partial-strike-if\/","title":{"rendered":"Pharmacists to begin partial strike, if\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hospital_Pharmacy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7762\" alt=\"Hospital_Pharmacy\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hospital_Pharmacy-300x264.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hospital_Pharmacy-300x264.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hospital_Pharmacy.jpg 326w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) will by close of day on Friday embark on a partial strike.<\/p>\n<p>The strike will include withdrawal of night and weekend services as well as services on public holidays.<\/p>\n<p>According to the association it will also withdraw the National Health Insurance service; however, all other services will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Vice Chairman of GHOSPA, Agyemang Badu said the strike is a result of the refusal of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to pay GHOSPA members the \u201cappropriate\u201d Conversion Difference under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the past three years membership of GHOSPA has been on the war front as far as labour issue is concerned. We had thought that with the setting up of a committee by the government whose work ended with a government white paper on the recommendations they churn out\u2026,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that since June 2013 when the report came out, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has failed to act according to the recommendations, hence the ultimatum.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019If by the close of work today [Friday] we have not heard from government why its own recommendations have not been implemented, then we will embark on a partial withdrawal of services\u2026,\u2019\u2019 he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Badu also stated that members of GHOSPA are agitated and are surprised that Fair Wages has failed to implement the recommendations of the government sub-committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking at what is due us per the cabinet sub-committee\u2019s report\u2019s recommendation; we are not demanding pay rise or equality with doctors,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>He further said pharmacist only wants what is due them based on job evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Evans Effah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) will by close of day on Friday embark on a partial strike.
