The Koforidua Regional Hospital has introduced an electronic folder system at its Out-Patient Department to help reduce the time used to retrieve the records of patients.<\/p>\n
The system is aimed at reducing the cost of health care by eliminating the use of folders.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”VBCsZKdxUb881WvTbURl9uwy9xgGoI3K”]This was announced by the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Kwame Anim Boamah, at the third biannual award and dinner dance of the hospital.<\/p>\n
24 workers were presented with awards for their performance with the overall best awards going to Abdulai Abubakari, an orderly, Emelia Owusu-Acheampong, a health aid, Mary Esi Sam, a midwife, Akosua Serwaah Bonsu and Dr Forster Amponsah Menu, a medical officer.<\/p>\n
The Hospital also presented parting gifts to 28 other staff who retired from the hospital within the last two years.<\/p>\n
Citations were presented to four non-health workers who contributed to the work of the hospital including Agnes Munyuhitum of the Sunrise FM for using her programme on health to promote health care in the New Juaben Municipality.<\/p>\n
Dr Boamah said the hospital was extending the use of the E-folder system to all departments of the hospital.<\/p>\n
He noted that the health facility benefitted from government\u2019s retooling programme which had provided departments of the hospital with the most modern equipment.<\/p>\n
The Medical Director added that rehabilitation of old structures is underway, adding that, within the last two years, the Restoration of Dignity project which was initiated by the Mental Health Department of the hospital removed six mental patients from the streets of Koforidua, treated them and are now reunited them with their families.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong, expressed the appreciation of the people of the Region and the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to the hospital management and staff for the service they render to the people of the region.<\/p>\n
She appealed to the staff to use dialogue to resolve all misunderstanding rather than strikes\u00a0 and assured that the RCC was always ready to listen and dialogue with them to help find solution to any challenge that they might face in the discharge o their work.<\/p>\n
