{"id":77029,"date":"2014-12-24T13:10:46","date_gmt":"2014-12-24T13:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=77029"},"modified":"2014-12-24T14:50:32","modified_gmt":"2014-12-24T14:50:32","slug":"data-bank-ceo-sues-sam-george","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/12\/data-bank-ceo-sues-sam-george\/","title":{"rendered":"Data Bank&#8217;s Ken Ofori Atta sues Sam George"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Chief Executive Officer of Data Bank, Ken Ofori Atta has filed a suit against Presidential Staffer, Sam George Nartey and Accra based Radio Gold over what he said are defamatory comments made against him.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr.Ofori Atta, Sam George alleged that he [Ofori Atta] evaded tax and engaged in fraudulent activities concerning a foreign account belonging to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;IFYk0imawFvZGhnNhHvrDp2WMspeJhGq&#8221;]Sam George who made the comment on Accra Based Radio Gold during a discussion said that Mr. Ofori Atta has no right to talk about corruption with such a background.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ofori Atta has sued both the station and Sam George, demanding \u00a0GHC100 million from the latter and Radio Gold since his reputation has been damaged \u00a0by the comments.<\/p>\n<p>Sam George has recently been in the news for criticizing the General Secretary of the Convention People\u2019s Party(CPP), Ivor Greenstreet after the latter took a swipe at the National Democratic Congress(NDC) <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/20\/nobody-is-seeing-your-better-ghana-agenda-cpp-to-ndc\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>during its recently held congress.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Widespread criticism over the weekend compelled Sam George to apologize after his comment on Facebook against the General Secretary of the Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP): \u201cGreenstreet apparently needs some elevation to see the Better Ghana,\u201d angered the Federation of the disabled .<\/p>\n<p>Sam George has however refused to render an <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/22\/i-stand-by-my-elevation-comment-against-greenstreet-sam-george\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>unqualified apology to Greenstreet.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Ivor Greenstreet needs to elevate his thinking and it\u2019s a position I stand by\u2026 I have not taken down the post from Facebook because the post is not an insult,\u201d he told Citi Breakfast Show host Bernard Avle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Chief Executive Officer of Data Bank, Ken Ofori Atta has filed a suit against Presidential Staffer, Sam George Nartey and Accra based Radio Gold over what he said are defamatory comments made against him.
