Embattled hip-life artiste, Kwaw Kese, born Emmanuel Botchwey is scheduled to reappear at the Kumasi High court today as he seeks to secure a bail.<\/p>\n
His third attempt at securing bail on health grounds<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>was unsuccessful after his lawyers failed to produce a medical report to support their motion.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”sdwWgkZ0ys1JMouL6GbSk2CTHf09euGx”]This will be the fourth time he will be appearing in court since his arrest on Saturday, November 22.<\/p>\n The rapper was arrested by the Police in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region for allegedly smoking a substance suspected to be Indian hemp in public, at a drinking spot close to the popular \u2018+2 Pub\u2019 in Nhyiaeso in Kumasi.<\/p>\n The Ashanti Regional Police Command ruled out bail and processed him for court.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit court presided over by Judge William Boampong, subsequently remanded him in prison custody at the Kumasi Central Prison.<\/p>\n After two failed attempts to secure bail at the KMA Circuit court, his lawyers took the case to the Kumasi High court where he was denied bail a third time.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Kwaw Kese has however begun a massive campaign<\/strong><\/span><\/a> against the use of narcotic drugs by the youth.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, his colleagues in the music industry have been pleading with the authorities<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>to deal leniently with him while others are campaigning for his release.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
