Former Communications Director under the late President John Mills’ administration, Koku Anyidoho has been elected as the First Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n

This, according to him signals his triumphant comeback into front-line politics after going on the quiet after the death of his boss, President John Mills in 2012.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”Y3Jc69D3j5qv19JsR2oRW88waJ8H5gMn”]In an earlier interview with Citi News <\/strong>on Friday,\u00a0Mr. Anyidoho was confident of winning the election<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>because according to him, it was time for he NDC delegates’ to reward his loyalty to the party and the late President.<\/p>\n

He expressed his appreciation to the party delegates’ for entrusting him with the position and promised that all loose ends in the party which is currently hurting the fortunes of the NDC will be tied.<\/p>\n

Some of us are coming in to tell the NDC. We don’t necessarily have to fight the NPP, we just have to poignantly tell our story,” he said.<\/p>\n

He expressed his readiness to serve the party under the leadership of Johnson Asiedu Nketia because according to him, he [Asiedu Nketia] is endowed with great wisdom which will help the fortunes of the party.<\/p>\n

Mr. Anyidoho also discounted claims that he has a bad relationship with the President and leader of the NDC, President John Mahama.<\/p>\n

He described them as “needless rumors”, adding that his silence on the matter has so far been worth it.<\/p>\n

Koku Anyidoho polled\u00a02,337 while his other two contenders, George Lawson polled 1,389.<\/p>\n

George Lawson is now the second Deputy General Secretary of the NDC.<\/p>\n
