Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the Northern Regional Police Command,\u00a0ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, said \u201cwe have arrested four persons and we are transporting them to Tamale for investigation. The names of the suspects are Musa Alhassan 45, Mohamed Dokugo 50, Douso Mamie 25, and Mohamed Ludin 18.\u201d<\/p>\nHe said the arrest has slightly calmed tension in the area.<\/p>\n
He asked residents in the area to exercise patience and not take the law into their hands since the Police are working hard to bring the culprits to book.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a prime suspect Abdulie Mohammed with 6 others who are now at large. We have started a man hunt for them and we hope to quickly arrest them and we will continue with the investigations so that we will be able to establish the reasons why they killed Salin Kuganna Wantimani Kugo,who is 75 years old. We have the local police on the ground they have started some patrol in the Talikugan in the township. \u201c<\/p>\n
Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0has received reports from the town that the late Salinkuga Naa was allegedly in middle of a conflict between Fulani Herdsmen and\u00a0chiefs and residents of adjourning communities in the area.<\/p>\nThe rival chiefs and their subjects reportedly sacked the Fulani Herdsmen out of their communities on grounds that their cattle were destroying the farmlands owned by residents.<\/span><\/p>\nBut the late Salinkuga Naa, Sumani Tigu reportedly accommodated some of the Fulani herdsmen in his community.<\/span><\/p>\nThe matter was reported to the Regent of Dagbon who on Tuesday ruled in favour of the murdered Salinkuga Naa Sumani Tigu.<\/span><\/p>\n–<\/p>\n
