I have always held the view that there was no need for the creation of this Ghana Gas Company&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The creation itself was also an illegality. You get up one morning and you realise that people, like five people or so have been put together as directors and a limited liability company has been put in place and they are running this whole business for Ghana. This is such a strategic asset,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Confusion has broken out\u00a0between the management of Ghana Gas Company and the Ministry of Energy\u00a0and Petroleum over the latter\u2019s claim that the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/11\/turf-war-over-ghana-gas-botchwey-energy-ministry-clash\/\"><strong>GNPC had finally taken over Ghana Gas.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whereas the Ministry in a press statement on Thursday announced a takeover of Ghana Gas by the GNPC, the Board Chairman of the company, Dr Kwesi Botchwey, issued a counter statement challenging GNPC\u2019s take over claims.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong>, the Adansi Asokwa Member of Parliament(MP) said the takeover had been long overdue , adding that government\u2019s decision is a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hold the view that it is long over due and it is appropriate that government has now decided that Ghana Gas as a company should belong where it should. When you read the PNDC law 84, it makes it very clear.
