A Civil Society group in the Eastern Region, Mass Action for Development (MAFOD) has issued a 10-day ultimatum to government to repair major roads in the region or face their wrath.<\/p>\n
This threat was issued by the group after the Eastern Regional house of chiefs led by the Okyehene Amoatia Ofori Panyin toured some roads in the region to ascertain the extent of the poor nature of the roads.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Convener for MAFOD, Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamaoh threatened that they will stage \u00a0a series of demonstrations until their demands are met.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”maMJIpbunWQUzkKgYhZu9QDSZdCXULb0″]He said residents have on countless occasions complained to the authorities to as a matter of urgency, repair the roads in the region.<\/p>\n Mr Ofosu Ntiamaoh said\u00a0since their complaints have not been addressed, a series of demonstrations will be staged to press home their demands.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are going to have sustained demonstrations until they adhere to our request. We are not making any unreasonable request because this is just common road construction,\u201d he fumed.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen the President came on a tour in the Eastern Region, he was flying because of the poor nature of the roads. He was flying with tax payers money. Are we also not human beings? Aren\u2019t we paying taxes to the government?
