Citi News NORPRA was mobilizing discerning people from the three regions of the north to demonstrate against government’s exclusion of SADA from the 2015 budget.

He said the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no excuse denying the people of Northern Ghana the meaningful development they deserved.

He recalled, “The NDC in 2012 enjoyed the massive support of we the people in the three regions of the north but has done little to salvage the masses who are struggling with poverty.”

“We have started mobilizing people from three northern regions to engage government through series of well coordinated activities: we will not allow government to toy with the people of Northern Ghana,” Adongo disclosed.

He said NORPRA was convinced government intended scrapping the SADA programme.

“We know there are clear cut intentions of the government to abandon SADA and I assured you, we will stand up, we will speak out, government must ensure that SADA works and SADA works well for us to have the accelerated development in Northern Ghana.”

Ayoriga Adongo Bismarck commended MP for Effutu in the Central Region, Hon. Alexander Afernyo Markins and his surrogates in Parliament for openly demonstrating their commitment to protect SADA.

“After the budget was presented none of our Honorable Members of Parliament who are there because of you and I though it wise to raise red flags when they realized that SADA was missing in the budget or no allocation was made: they rather sat back comfortably and Members of Parliament in this country who are not in any way directly responsible or accountable to the people of Northern Ghana are up every second and every minute raising critical questions about why government took that ill-informed decision not to allocate resources to SADA.”

The Northern Patriots in Research and Advocacy (NORPRA) is a civil society organization which has since its establishment dedicated and committed itself to the cause of the poor in Northern Ghana.
