Six aspirants vying for various national executive positions in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have withdrawn from the race.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”jZub0Ti2RPRnbjEZIgYcafcicE5SsnDt”]The withdrawal from the race leaves NDC delegates with a pool of 98 candidates to choose 23 executives.<\/p>\n
Announcing the results of the Vetting Committee of the party<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia told Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0that no reasons were given by the candidates for the withdrawal.<\/p>\n He said “After going through the exercise we were asked to assess whether they think they are ready to take the verdict or they will withdraw and in all the cases they withdrew. So that sends a signal to me that they are honest and they themselves agreed that they did not meet the criteria.”<\/p>\n \u201cIn the national organizer position, there was one Member of Parliament who had filed and he subsequently withdrew. He is Hon. Didieye MP for Afram Plains North. In the area of Vice Chair we have Rev Prof Lawson and Alhaji Mohammed Abass, the report indicates that they\u2019ve withdrew. Youth organizer we have Mr Okpolu Ahamadji he decided to withdraw and then Deputy Youth Organizer we have Fuseini Seidu Iddrisu he also decided to withdraw and then the Deputy Women Organizer category we have Agnes Adomah who also decided to withdraw,\u201d said the party’s General Secretary.<\/p>\n
