Some macho men in Ashiaman who claim to be members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) are warning government to deliver on its promise to them or face their wrath in the coming days.

They expressed disappointed in the leadership of the party for failing to honour the numerous promises made to them prior to winning power in the 2008 general elections.

The macho men numbering over 30 are claiming to have served the NDC in diverse ways including guarding ballot boxes during elections.

[contextly_sidebar id=”DfcXt7m58lQhXlEwMjEsfiQnyQ7XWWOu”]“I’m a full NDC man and they promised us that if they come to power, they will give us jobs to help us take care of ourselves but up till now, they haven’t given us any jobs to do.”

Citi News’ Tema correspondent, Elvis Washington, who spoke to the macho men said they warned the leadership of the NDC to come to their aid or risk losing the 2016 general elections.

“They gave us some white paper and told us to GHPOHA but they didn’t give us any job and so we have been suffering up till now,” and angry macho man fumed,” another said in the interview.

Another also shouted saying, “they will lose in 2016. If they don’t come and fulfill their promises, they will see. They have really disappointed us.”

One told Citi News, they are hardworking men therefore, the government should provide them with jobs.

He said: “If you look at us, do we look like lazy people to you? We are strong men and so where is the job they promised us.”

One of them, visibly angry denied claims that they were made to steal ballot boxes in the 2008 elections saying, “we didn’t steal ballot boxes; we really campaigned for and fought for the party. We fought for the party so they better bring the job.”

Another macho man however pleaded with President John Mahama and the leadership of the NDC to bring developmental projects to Ashiaman to help them make a living.
