The Tolon District Assembly in the Northern Region has awarded on contract all basic schools which were ripped off by rainstorm.<\/p>\n
Middle 2014, about 12 schools including the Woribogu Ahmadiya Primary school were completely ripped off.<\/p>\n
Students of the affected schools have being forced to study under trees whilst the renovation works are in progress.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”e7EvgcsfCXnGPeD5eLm8v1Jcd2w1stUH”]But the Tolon District Chief Executive, Seidu Abukari said contractors were busily renovating the affected schools and by extension building additional schools.<\/p>\n
He said the assembly requested a list of the affected schools and other dilapidated schools in the district for immediate attention.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cAs I speak contractors are at site and are working feverishly to ensure that immediately after Christmas the affected schools will reopen and the children will be in those schools and learning will continue.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Tolon DCE exclusively spoke to Citi News after the commissioning and handing over of a 3 unit classroom block at Kasuliyili at the cost of GHC95, 000, 00.<\/p>\n
According to him, his administration\u2019s major priority was to eliminate schools under trees in the Tolon District.<\/p>\n
He stated, \u201cOn assumption of office in August 2013, I realized that there was a deficit in educational infrastructure in the whole of the Tolon District and Kasuliyili traditional area in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n
