The Volta Regional Police Command is yet to arrest the suspects who allegedly opened fire on two individuals who were working on their farm at Alavanyo-Wudidi last Friday.<\/p>\n

One person was killed in the shooting incident<\/strong><\/a><\/span> but the Police are yet to interrogate the surviving victim.<\/p>\n

The surviving victim is expected to help\u00a0the Police\u00a0identify the perpetrators of the attack.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”eqf4wSmedPKsePIhbU7ccs9EcNx0TN63″]The Volta Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter King Yentumi told Citi News,<\/strong> his men are on the ground investigating the matter and are also maintaining peace in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe place is very calm but my men are looking for the surviving victim to take his statement so that we will continue with the investigation,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

According to him, the victims claimed they were alone on the farm when the attck took place but \u201cthey themselves do not know the people but they can identify them so we have to nose around and see whether we will be able to get somebody who will give us clues and so as at now, we haven\u2019t made any arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is however unclear whether Friday’s attack has any links to the long-standing dispute in the area but the Police are confident that their investigations will unravel the truth.<\/p>\n

The two towns, Alavanyo and Nkonya are already under a curfew following recurrent clashes over a piece of land.<\/p>\n

This follows several failed attempts by government and the people of the area to resolve the matter after several months of negotiations.<\/p>\n
