{"id":69627,"date":"2014-11-28T14:00:47","date_gmt":"2014-11-28T14:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=69627"},"modified":"2014-11-28T14:10:08","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T14:10:08","slug":"stop-playing-political-football-with-cocaine-saga-nduom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/stop-playing-political-football-with-cocaine-saga-nduom\/","title":{"rendered":"Stop playing &#8216;political football&#8217; with cocaine saga \u2013 Nduom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The founder of the Progressive People\u2019s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has warned the government and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop the partisan blame game with the Nayele cocaine saga.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTell your friends in NPP and NDC to stop the political football on cocaine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;81FjgadYuKfGH4CFTAzhcAlSy6K00cJf&#8221;]According to him, Ghanaians who frequently travel outside the country to transact business are constantly shadowed by \u201ccorruption in government, Ebola and now, cocaine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverywhere I go, they ask for those who have been to West Africa in the past 21 days to identify themselves &#8211; no distinction between Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and West Africa,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/16\/ghanaian-woman-busted-for-carrying-cocaine\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>arrest of a Ghanaian woman<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>at the Heathrow Airport in the UK for attempting to smuggle 12.5 kilogram of cocaine has taken a political twist as sections of the general public, some persons within the ruling NDC and the NPP are accusing each other of engaging in drug trade.<\/p>\n<p>A former Chief of Staff under the Kufuor Administration, Kojo Mpiani has said it is <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/25\/stop-politicizing-cocaine-scandal-kojo-mpiani\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>wrong for the NPP to tag the Mahama administration<\/strong><\/span><\/a> with a cocaine label although the NDC did same to them during Kufuor\u2019s regime.<\/p>\n<p>And in a post on his Facebook page, the 2012 PPP Presidential candidate warned that anyone who has been or still is a \u201cMember of Parliament (MP), a Minister of State, a party official &#8211; CPP, PPP, NPP, GCPP, NDC, PNC and now business people in general must pay attention to the corruption tag.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He remarked that it is imperative that the issues are addressed or else, the nation will \u201csink together under its weight; and now the cocaine thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all lose when state institutions are weakened so much by partisan punches that they cannot solve problems such as this.
