{"id":69406,"date":"2014-11-27T18:36:08","date_gmt":"2014-11-27T18:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=69406"},"modified":"2014-11-28T06:00:47","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T06:00:47","slug":"mahama-acted-with-supersonic-speed-on-cocaine-saga-asiedu-nketia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/mahama-acted-with-supersonic-speed-on-cocaine-saga-asiedu-nketia\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama acted with &#8216;supersonic speed&#8217; on cocaine saga \u2013 Asiedu Nketia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has waded into the ongoing cocaine saga, urging critics of the government to rather turn their fire on public servants working at the Kotoka International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u00a0him, there is no evidence linking Nayele Ametefe to the NDC or government.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;vqhtgWpSybWhMDSYZorFtJEF7TeBuEEM&#8221;]Nayele Ametefeh was busted at the Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom for carrying 12 kg of cocaine.<\/p>\n<p>She has pleaded\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/27\/nayele-ametefe-pleads-guilty-in-uk-court\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #666699;\"><strong>guilty to all the charges leveled against her<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi FM\u2019s Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said President Mahama and the NDC government ought to receive plaudits for what he describes as the swift actions taken in the wake of the cocaine bust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInfact President Mahama acted with supersonic speed to round all these people up, give them to the investigative authorities and let them take action and some people think he went over drive by even dissolving NACOB,\u201d Asiedu Nketia said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same NPP people who are saying that he was wrong in dissolving NACOB, I can bet my last pesewa that had NACOB Board not been dissolved, that would have been their centre of attack,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He therefore emphaszied the need for the persons spreading such false rumours to refrain from doing so.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The point is that we must correct these people who are making this allegation.They are the people who must be corrected so that they know that we have a distinction between public servants and politicians.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile a \u00a0Member of Parliament, for the Adenta Constituency, Ashie Moore \u00a0has expressed dissatisfaction about the manner in which the National Democratic Congress government is handling the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Mr. Ashie More said &#8220;I&#8217;m not happy about the response from some of our government officials when it comes to the cocaine saga.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wish there will be a directive to all Ministers and MPs not to comment on the cocaine matter again.
