{"id":68661,"date":"2014-11-25T21:16:21","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T21:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=68661"},"modified":"2014-11-26T04:49:13","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T04:49:13","slug":"cocaine-saga-director-at-foreign-affairs-ministry-2-others-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/cocaine-saga-director-at-foreign-affairs-ministry-2-others-charged\/","title":{"rendered":"Cocaine saga: Director at Foreign Affairs Ministry, 2 others charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abiel Ashitey Armah and two others have been dragged to court by government for allegedly assisting Nayele Ametefe to transport cocaine from Ghana to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The other two are Ahmed Abubakar, Protocol Officer and Kissi Theophilus.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;f4haHegwSS4D9fAygJ3d8peRIvlF7lPw&#8221;]According to a writ filed by the Attorney General&#8217;s Department and cited by <strong>citifmonline.com<\/strong>, the three have been charged with abetment of crime; exportation of narcotic drugs, contrary to sections 56 (c) and 1 (1) of the Narcotic Drugs (Control, Enforcement and Sanctions) Act, 1990 (PNDC law 236).<\/p>\n<p>Ashitey Armah allegedly allowed Ms Ametefeh and two other women to use the VVIP lounge on November 9 to board their flight.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, preliminary investigations by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) indicated that Ashitey Armah allegedly ordered Kissi and Ahmed to meet and escort Ametefeh and the two other through the VVIP Lounge; which they did.<\/p>\n<p>According to the brief facts attached to the writ, Mr. Ashitey claimed he was contacted by one Alhaji Daud to facilitate the passage of Nayele and two other ladies through the VVIP lounge at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed and Theophilus allegedly facilitated the passage of the three ladies by processing their passports and boarding documents.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Attorney General&#8217;s Department, preliminary investigations also showed that accused persons also carried the luggage of the said ladies onto the plane for departure to the United Kingdon.<\/p>\n<p>Nayele Ametefe was subsequently arrested at the Heathrow Airport in London.<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear yet the whereabouts of the two other ladies that the accused helped to leave the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Nana Boakye-Yiadom\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abiel Ashitey Armah and two others have been dragged to court by government for allegedly assisting Nayele Ametefe to transport cocaine from Ghana to the UK.
