{"id":68638,"date":"2014-11-26T05:30:27","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T05:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=68638"},"modified":"2014-11-26T05:18:24","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T05:18:24","slug":"cj-needs-more-time-over-chraj-brouhaha-emile-short","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/cj-needs-more-time-over-chraj-brouhaha-emile-short\/","title":{"rendered":"CJ needs more time over CHRAJ brouhaha \u2013 Emile Short"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former Commissioner of Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Emile Short has said the Chief Justice, Georgina Wood should be given ample time to take a decision on the current CHRAJ Boss, Lauretta Lamptey.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood was asked by President Mahama,<span style=\"color: #333333;\"> to investigate and initiate processes if necessary,<\/span>\u00a0for the removal of Lauretta Lamptey as CHRAJ Commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;D302gOI35voVwaHUA4knaP3aesUl0ccK&#8221;]Prior to the President\u2019s directive, two petitions were submitted to the Presidency for Ms Lamptey to be impeached following revelations that she spent $180,000 on rent<\/p>\n<p>The petitions were submitted by the<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/16\/chraj-boss-accused-of-wasting-180000-on-rent\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>\u00a0Progressive Nationalist Forum\u00a0(PNF)<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>and the\u00a0Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annor Dompreh.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Justice\u2019s seeming delay on the matter has been questioned by various stakeholders but speaking on <strong>Eyewitness New<\/strong>s, Emile Short requested for more time on behalf of the Chief Justice, saying; \u201cthe Chief Justice obviously is in charge of this process and I think that we should all leave her to decide what is best.
