The angry family of the late murdered Bimbila chief, Naa Andani Dasana Abdulai II, say they no longer trust the police capacity to protect their lives and property.<\/p>\n
This comes at the back of the recent arrest of five suspects who allegedly possessed illegal weapons<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n According to the family Spokesperson, Osman Kikaa, the Gbugmayili Royals have since the murder of the Bimbila chief doubted the police neutrality in handling the protracted Bimbila chieftaincy dispute.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”vDx8smrXbsFez9EKiSr01cXHgahRRZf2″]He asserted that the life of the current Regent of Nanung Traditional Area, Yakubu Andani Dasana is in danger.<\/p>\n \u201cThe life of the Regent now has continuously been threatened and we have since put this before the police and no arrest has since been made to that effect: you want us to sit down like that for them to come and kill him again? Osman Kikaa asked.\u201d<\/p>\n He lambasted the police administration in Bimbila saying, \u201cWe have lost confidence in the police: the police administration and for that matter the leadership of the police Commander ASP Abanga in Bimbila.\u201d<\/p>\n He fumed, \u201cHe does not deserve any applaud and does not deserve any credit for this unlawful exercise conducted.\u201d<\/p>\n Osman Kikaa challenged the police to be proactive in responding to early warning signals in identified hotspots in the Northern Region including Bimbila Township.<\/p>\n \u201cIndeed if the police needed any kind of applause from Ghanaians then their duty would have been to protect the man who was murdered under their care.\u201d<\/p>\n Residents of Bimbila Township have been subjected to curfew by the Ministry of Interior<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
