An Energy Consultant, Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby has disclosed to Citi News that Dr Tony Oteng-Gyasi resigned as Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) because he was dissatisfied with some activities within the company.<\/p>\n

Dr Oteng Gyasi, who is credited for establishing the first cable manufacturing company of ISO standards in sub-Saharan Africa, resigned some months on health grounds.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Despite his reasons, some insiders suggested there could be more to his resignation than meets the eye.<\/p>\n

Industry players described his resignation as a big blow to the energy sector<\/strong><\/span><\/a> since his expertise could have helped the nation surmount the power crisis which is intensifying as the months go by.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> news analysis programme, The Big Issue<\/strong><\/em> over the weekend, Dr. Wereko-Brobby who is also the former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA) stated that some happenings within the ECG informed Oteng Gyasi\u2019s decision to resign.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cHe [Oteng Gyasi] resigned simply because he was dissatisfied with some of the things he had to grapple with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wereko-Brobby admitted that Oteng Gyasi did have health issues \u201c\u2026but the real reasons why Tony resigned apart from problems with his personal health was the fact that some of these problems were challenges that he felt should be better handled.\u201d<\/p>\n
