{"id":67415,"date":"2014-11-22T07:23:20","date_gmt":"2014-11-22T07:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=67415"},"modified":"2014-11-22T07:41:50","modified_gmt":"2014-11-22T07:41:50","slug":"nacob-board-dissolved-cocaine-saga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/nacob-board-dissolved-cocaine-saga\/","title":{"rendered":"NACOB board dissolved over cocaine saga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has dissolved the governing board of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB).<\/p>\n<p>This comes a day after the Communications Minister Dr. Omane Boamah said on <strong>Citi FM<\/strong> that <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/21\/nacob-is-lying-omane-boamah\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>NACOB did not play any role<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in the arrest of a cocaine courier, Nayele Ametefe, even though NACOB had claimed it was involved.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;V6Bpa0RpsLmSrPqfccyapQoJK2lzIJcm&#8221;]A press statement signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary of NACOB said\u00a0Nayele \u201cwas arrested on the November 10, 2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/17\/cocaine-woman-traveled-with-austrian-passport-nacob\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>through the collaborative effort of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) and its British partners<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But UK authorities on Friday also said they <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/21\/we-didnt-collaborate-with-nacob-uk-authorities\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>did not work with NACOB to arrest the woman<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and that they did not have any idea Ms Ametefe was travelling to the UK with about 12kg of cocaine in her hand luggage.<\/p>\n<p>According to a release issued by the Chief of Staff Prosper Bani, further actions &#8220;will follow in due course.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nayele Ametefe was arrested on 10th November, 2014 at the Heathrow Airport with the cocaine with street value estimated to be several hundred thousands of Pounds.<\/p>\n<p>She is currently in the custody of the UK security agencies and expected to appear in court again on November 27.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Nana Boakye-Yiadom\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has dissolved the governing board of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB).
