{"id":66400,"date":"2014-11-20T06:02:45","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T06:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=66400"},"modified":"2014-11-20T13:39:57","modified_gmt":"2014-11-20T13:39:57","slug":"labour-to-demonstrate-over-pension-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/11\/labour-to-demonstrate-over-pension-funds\/","title":{"rendered":"Labour to demonstrate over pension funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The twelve labour unions demanding the payment of their tier two pension contributions are set to embark on a massive demonstration on Thursday in both Kumasi and Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership of the unions have consequently directed their members to join the demonstration to compel government to release their tier two pension contributions into their registered schemes.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;YGEXdIhV5YmWuc511zjNBS4kRlBP5C9a&#8221;]Twelve labour groups embarked on an indefinite strike to draw government\u2019s attention to the non-payment of their tier two pension funds.<\/p>\n<p>Workers have alleged that\u00a0\u00a0government has misused the funds already accrued hence the refusal to handover the management of the pension.<\/p>\n<p>But the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu has rejected the claims,<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/24\/we-havent-chopped-your-pension-funds-haruna-iddrisu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> saying the monies are intact.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a certain amount of money available but I cannot quote it to you\u2026The money has not been chopped, the money is with the Bank of Ghana,\u201d Haruna Iddrisu said.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking at a press conference in Accra, the Director of Grievances at the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana, (CLOGSAG)John Ankrah described government\u2019s decision to manage the tier two pension funds as frustrating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to bring to the attention of the public, \u00a0frustrations due to the impediments placed in way to operate the\u00a0 four public sector scheme, registered and licensed by the National Pensions Regulatory Authority\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The twelve labour unions demanding the payment of their tier two pension contributions are set to embark on a massive demonstration on Thursday in both Kumasi and Accra.
