I write these words with great sadness and disbelief about our beloved Aliu Mahama of blessed memory.<\/p>\n
Words at this time feel wholly inadequate to describe the greatness of the former Vice President of our country.The shock is too great and the pain too fresh.<\/p>\n
Today marks two clear years of his unannounced departure and an obligation on all of us to continue to pray for the soul of one of the greatest persons of our lifetime.<\/p>\n
H.E Vice President Mahama was a dedicated practising Muslim and very well respected in the Muslim community and visionary of par excellence. Every fiber of his being was animated by the reality of the Almighty Allah and the truth. He lived with the awareness of God. His infinite love and awesomeness for humankind and humanty was demonstrated in his entire life. I am instructed by the virtues of Alhaji to live a most meaningful and fulfilling life.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Mahama passionately believed in the greatness of every human being, because God Himself testified to the inherent greatness in every human being.He exuded love and concern for every muslim, every Ghanaian, everybody and was a beloved father to thousands of people. The former Veep dedicated his life to bringing a renaissance within Dagbon and the Northern Region. He reached out to every tribe, chieftaincy gate, faith and every political party which reconnected him to the depth and meaning of our heritage. He was a unifying person with very unique traits.<\/p>\n
He undertook the task to galvanize the Ghanaian people to be discipline in everything we do and inspired us to live up to our mission and responsibilities by keeping our environment clean and lead in greater truth. Alhaji Mahama lived with the reality that he had a duty to the masses, the poor, vulnerable, the mentally and physically challenged. He performed the duty with great alacrity.<\/p>\n
He once told me that; If the masses of our society are assimilating, it’s our responsibility to bring each and every one back and that if there is a threat to our community we mustn’t\u00a0 ignore the affected people. He continued; we must meet the challenges facing the people head on and do whatever we can to remedy the situation.<\/p>\n
Alhaji fought the battles of the poor people until his last day. He was always available to help. On every Sunday, at his residence in Accra was a massive visitations of people across the country for support in one form or the other. He masterly delivered his self-assigned duty by ensuring that, nobody left him unattended to.<\/p>\n
Today we are ‘orphans’. Today we refuse to mourn but celeberate you. Today we recall your benevolence and kindness. Today we experience the vacuum you have created unintentionally. Today I conclude that you are a colossal loss to humanity.<\/p>\n
Your monument is the people and the indelible mark of generosity you have left on our mind.<\/p>\n
