Some angry youth of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region are calling for the immediate removal of Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna as the Regional Minister.<\/p>\n

According to them, the Regional Minister is a New Patriotic Party (NPP) mole whose presence in the region will destroy the NDC.<\/p>\n

This call came in the wake of controversies surrounding the arrest of an aspiring Northern Regional NDC Organizer<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Godfred A. Wumbei.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”Qx2bshwd72tZz7NDKSpyH0xOU4Zn1cIb”]For reasons yet to be established, Godfred A. Wumbei on Friday slept in the Tamale Metro Police Command cells.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously, his campaign Manager, Abubakari Arafat Zakariah was detained at the Sakasaka Divisional Police Command overnight.<\/p>\n

They were both released on Saturday without any preferred charges against them by the law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of NDC supporters who stormed the regional Police Command in solidarity chastised the Northern Regional Minister for allegedly masterminding their arrest.<\/p>\n

The incarcerated NDC regional Organizer Aspirant and his campaign Chairman in an exclusive interview with Citi News<\/strong> played to the emotions of the angry youth by accusing the regional Minister of their arrest.<\/p>\n

According to Godfred A. Wumbei, some NDC delegates alerted his campaign team that the regional Minister was bribing them at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council to vote for his preferred candidate for the regional Organizer position if there is going to be a re-run.<\/p>\n

He said the Regional Minister was caught sharing monies to the delegates during his campaign team\u2019s arrival at the scene.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to quiz the regional Minister about his conduct, Godfred A. Wumbei said Alhaji Limuna asked his bodyguard to arrest him and his campaign Manager.<\/p>\n

His campaign Manager, Abubakari Arafat Zakariah said same.<\/p>\n

He however implied that the regional Minister will be shocked if the regional Organizer position is to be re-run.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Citi News<\/strong> has gathered that plans are afoot to conduct the regional Secretary, Treasurer and Organizer positions on Sunday November 16, 2014.<\/p>\n

The regional Secretary and Treasurer positions are being contested in court by some disqualified aspirants including a senior lecturer of Tamale Polytechnic, Mohammed Aliu alias one man.<\/p>\n
