\u00a075% of Ghanaians ranked<\/a> <\/strong>the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), as the worst public service delivery agency.<\/p>\nAccording to the report, most Ghanaians are dissatisfied with government\u2019s delivery of public services such as electricity, healthcare, education, water and sanitation, and road maintenance.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”z7gPpusI5POz7eg5er3jjSISf5Jq9CZ3″]\u00a0But speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>,a\u00a0Communications Consultant at the Energy Ministry, Edward Bawa argued that there has been a drastic improvement in terms of electricity supply.<\/p>\nMr Bawa said irrespective of what the survey says, the situation is now totally different from what is stated in the research.<\/p>\n
He argued that \u201cthe total electricity generated in 2008 was 7,219.4 jigawatts hours and in 2013 were 10,583.2 jigawatts hours which vividly shows the improvement in electricity supply.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, the amount of power consumed at the end of 2013 is also an improved version compared to 2008.<\/p>\n
He was however quick to add that Ghanaians lack access to constant power supply .<\/p>\n
He therefore challenged the sector to improve its supply systems, saying \u201cthe survey is a sense of challenge for the energy sector to do better irrespective of the fact that there has been an improvement.”<\/p>\n
