He decried pockets of violence which have always characterized general elections in various parts of the region.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;g0IULnDWzNgsC4FEcLRvQ2mPQAoFf7FL&#8221;]He implored leadership and supporters of the two major political parties to ceasefire on the use of intemperate language on the airwaves.<br \/>\nSecurity operatives in the region have described Yendi, Gushiegu, Chereponi, Zabzugu, Salaga and the three main constituencies in the Tamale Metro area as electoral hotspots<\/p>\n<p>In order to enhance peace in the area, Chief Sofo Azorka, declared his intention to work with the NPP regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu to deepen political tolerance in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBugri Naabu is not a politician and so he can say something and the media will highlight the negative side but we can work hand to hand: if he brings good things we will collect it but if he brings bad things we return it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/northern-ndc-congress-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63666\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/northern-ndc-congress-.jpg\" alt=\"northern ndc congress\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/northern-ndc-congress-.jpg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/northern-ndc-congress--300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the vociferous NPP regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu has alleged that the NDC in collaboration with the Electoral Commission rigged the 2012 general elections, a situation, he said will never be repeated in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look at 2012 elections and even go back to the Supreme Court verdict Nana Addo proved his case that the NDC and the Electoral Commissioner stole the power and that is why they can\u2019t even rule,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The newly elected Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Sofo Azorka has called for an end to political violence in the Northern region before, during and after general elections.
