The newly elected Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Sofo Azorka has called for an end to political violence in the Northern region before, during and after general elections.<\/p>\n
He says this is a move to kick against political intolerance in the area.<\/p>\n
The NDC Northern Regional Chairman said this in an exclusive interview with Citi News at his residence soon after he was sworn into office. He decried pockets of violence which have always characterized general elections in various parts of the region.<\/p>\n

\nSecurity operatives in the region have described Yendi, Gushiegu, Chereponi, Zabzugu, Salaga and the three main constituencies in the Tamale Metro area as electoral hotspots<\/p>\n
In order to enhance peace in the area, Chief Sofo Azorka, declared his intention to work with the NPP regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu to deepen political tolerance in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cBugri Naabu is not a politician and so he can say something and the media will highlight the negative side but we can work hand to hand: if he brings good things we will collect it but if he brings bad things we return it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
