<\/a>Fire has gutted some portions of the Takoradi Harbour.<\/p>\n According to the Director of the harbour, Capt. James Owusu-Koranteng, the fire was noticed by the Port security patrol team at around 4:25am Friday morning.<\/p>\n The fire is believed to have been caused by some heat from chemicals in containers at shed 4 of the port.<\/p>\n In an interview with Citi News<\/strong> Capt. Owusu Koranteng said the timely intervention by the Ghana National fire Service helped to control the blaze.<\/p>\n “The fire was reported at 4:25am, but as of 4:27, the Port Fire Service had arrived, by 4:30am the door to the affected area was broken and the National Fire Service arrived on time to quench the fire,\u2019\u2019 he indicated.<\/p>\n Capt. James Owusu Koranteng however, said investigations will soon be carried to ascertain the cause of the fire. He opined that, the fire might have been caused by heat generated by a chemical in shed 4.<\/p>\n
