[contextly_sidebar id=”fdSccBvtKeW2K24oJ3bUJhmmcHfplWuz”]The Police as part of their investigations\u00a0arrested about eight people<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>they suspected to be from one ethnic group fighting over a piece land in the area.<\/p>\n The suspects are believed to be the owners of the land the DCE was supposedly involved in.<\/p>\n But the regional Minister insists the DCE was not a party to the land dispute.<\/p>\n \u201cThe DCE wasn\u2019t meddling in any land dispute. If you are the District Chief Executive and land belongs to government and people want to encroach, it\u2019s your responsibility to say that look; this is government land and you cannot encroach,\u201d the minister maintained.<\/p>\n She indicated that, \u201cIf people are asking for compensation, the best place is to direct them to where they have to go and claim their compensation. He wasn\u2019t meddling in any land dispute, if people say he was meddling in land dispute I do not agree with them.\u201d<\/p>\n The minister who spoke to Citi News<\/strong> after a regional security meeting assured the people that government will maintain the peace in the area and that the security officials will get to the bottom of the matter.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we discussed was the need for us to encourage the police to be there and to also organize as VISEC to go there and visit the family and then probably meet with some of the opinion leaders to maintain the peace there because we don\u2019t want any conflict as a result of the murder of the DCE.
