{"id":6141,"date":"2014-03-14T11:01:58","date_gmt":"2014-03-14T11:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=6141"},"modified":"2014-03-14T11:30:41","modified_gmt":"2014-03-14T11:30:41","slug":"ghospa-to-strike-on-march-21st","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/ghospa-to-strike-on-march-21st\/","title":{"rendered":"GHOSPA to strike on March 21st"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/on-strike-sign1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6142\" alt=\"on-strike-sign1\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/on-strike-sign1-300x180.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/on-strike-sign1-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/on-strike-sign1.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has served notice it will withdraw its services to National Health Insurance Card holders from the 21<sup>st<\/sup> of March.<\/p>\n<p>GHOSPA says the action has become necessary following what they describe as failure on the part of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission(FWSC) to pay their conversion differences after migration unto the Single Spine Salary Structure.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, National Chairman of GHOSPA, Stephen Corquaye said the FWSC had failed to address their concerns hence the industrial action.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Corquaye, the FWSC is yet to pay for the extra services they have been offering under the National Health Insurance Services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other services we have been undertaking is the National Health Insurance Services that the FWSC has not paid GHOSPA for offering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He therefore stated that the appropriate convention should be paid to GHOSPA members and not what the FWSC has intended to offer.<\/p>\n<p>He said the presidency has not taken any step to implement recommendations of the cabinet subcommittees report released in June 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The report sought to resolve the stalemate between the public hospitals, pharmacist and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).<\/p>\n<p>The Association said: \u201cAs essential service providers and being mindful of the repercussions of any industrial action, GHOSPA believes the recommendations in the report must be implemented with dispatch, urgency and sensitivity for the lives of all our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has served notice it will withdraw its services to National Health Insurance Card holders from the 21st of March.
