{"id":60960,"date":"2014-10-31T08:38:11","date_gmt":"2014-10-31T08:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=60960"},"modified":"2014-10-31T08:38:11","modified_gmt":"2014-10-31T08:38:11","slug":"miss-ghana-foundation-embarks-on-ebola-prevention-efforts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/miss-ghana-foundation-embarks-on-ebola-prevention-efforts\/","title":{"rendered":"Miss Ghana Foundation embarks on ebola prevention efforts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Miss Ghana Foundation has teamed up with I.T firm, IPMC, on a campaign geared towards creating awareness on prevention of the Ebola virus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Themed \u2018Get Smart to prevent Ebola\u2019, Nadia Ntanu, 2013 Brand Ambassador for the Miss Ghana Foundation last week led the awareness efforts across some locations in the capital, Accra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The exercise took Nadia Ntanu, the reigning Miss Ghana and some 1500 volunteers to the Sodom and Gomorrah slum in Accra, where they educated the public on the symptoms and prevention of Ebola.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">She distributed flyers and posters on Ebola awareness and prevention.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141024_141801.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-60964\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141024_141801.jpg\" alt=\"20141024_141801\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141024_141801.jpg 640w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141024_141801-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ntanu emphasized that even though Ghana is yet to record a case it was important we stepped up prevention efforts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The outreach concurrently took place in 20 locations across the country including Tamale, Takoradi, Sunyani, Koforidua, and Konongo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u201cIt is now all about relevant, accurate and life saving facts that can be circulated as speedily as possible to vulnerable areas that may get affected from Ebola,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cBringing awareness to the individual level will help all of us control this wild beast in case it gets unleashed on our shores,\u201d Amar Deep S. Hari, CEO of IMPC adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Ebola prevention campaign is in line with the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) with strategic partners of the Miss Ghana brand and the Miss Ghana Foundation. IPMC has been a major sponsor of the Miss Ghana brand and the Foundation since 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ms. Ntanu intimated; the Miss Ghana Foundation and strategic partners will sustain the Ebola campaign until Ghanaians become fully aware of the message.
