{"id":6087,"date":"2014-03-13T17:23:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-13T17:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=6087"},"modified":"2014-03-13T17:35:10","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T17:35:10","slug":"ex-policeman-referred-to-psychiatric-hospital-after-kissing-a-minor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/ex-policeman-referred-to-psychiatric-hospital-after-kissing-a-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Policeman referred to psychiatric hospital after kissing a minor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6088\" alt=\"police (10)\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police-10-300x156.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police-10-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police-10.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>A Circuit Court in Accra on Thursday ordered the Police to send Paapa Nyaba, an ex-policeman who kissed an eight-year-old girl at Pokuase to the psychiatric hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Nyaba charged with indecent assault has however denied the offence.<\/p>\n<p>The court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava after giving the order admitted him to a bail in the sum of GH\u20a12,000.00 with one surety to reappear on June 12.<\/p>\n<p>When Nyaba was called into the dock, he made some gestures prompting the court as to whether he was receiving treatment at a psychiatric hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court that Nyaba had been discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>This prompted the court to make another order for Nyaba to be sent back to the medical facility.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting Detective Inspector Atimbire told the court that the victim&#8217;s mother was the complainant and the accused person resides at Pokuase Mayera in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution said in February this year at about 1430 hours, the complainant sent the victim to go and buy ground nut from a nearby provision shop.<\/p>\n<p>On entering the shop where Nyaba was also buying biscuit from; Nyaba placed his hand on the victim\u2019s shoulders and asked her if her father was a policeman and demanded to know her name.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution said suddenly, the accused person grabbed the victim\u2019s cheek with his two hands and kissed her passionately on her lips and told the victim that she was beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Inspector Atimbire said after the act the victim informed her mother who led her to identify the accused person.<\/p>\n<p>Nyaba was picked up by the people around and handed over to the Police at Tesano.
